I consider it to be a true blessing and honor to be a member of the Tummy Temple community --- where there is such a reverence for and understanding of the oneness of mind, body, and spirit. My journey and dedication to health began 13 years ago when I read “Diet For A New America” by John Robbins. Soon thereafter, I was reading every book I could get my hands on regarding nutrition and how to live lightly and in harmony with our home, Planet Earth. I became a food enthusiast with an emphasis on vegetarianism/veganism, healing with whole foods, and the importance of seasonal cleansing for the body. Moving to Seattle in 2004, I discovered Chaco Canyon Cafe, a gem of a restaurant where I found gainful employment and learned more of the wonders of raw food. The experience deepened my love of preparing healing food for me and my community. And after adapting a diet of predominately enzyme rich, alive, organic food, I experienced a significant increase in energy and enhanced awareness of my body, my life, and my life’s purpose. Concurrent with my involvement at Chaco, I was a student at the Cortiva Institute’s Brenneke School of Massage from where I graduated. While there, I gained extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology which was applied via considerable, practical hands on experience. A compelling realization came to me while at Brenneke. With proper education, self-care, and patient dedication the body has the capacity to heal itself. I knew my path to health and healing would lead well beyond massage therapy. Healing is process unique to each individual. We all share a need for a guiding light. At the Tummy Temple I have seen such a light shone on venerable techniques which help regain and then maintain peace, health and harmony. With an extensive background in nutrition and healing with whole and raw foods, I offer my clients a profoundly personal treatment experience which will influence the way they view wellness and the feeling of optimal health which starts with the most basic cellular structures of the body ---immunity, digestion, muscle tissues, and, of course, the colon! When necessary, I enthusiastically network with other health care professionals and work closely with them to provide the very best client care possible. I believe our society is a reflection of our consciousness. As our consciousness evolves our experience of life shifts. With this in mind, we have the ability to exert positive influence and change well beyond ourselves. My personal experiences involving bodywork, massage therapy, and a focus on intestinal health have been powerful catalysts for empowerment, awareness, and overall well-being. Massage therapy and Colon Hydrotherapy have been amazing instruments for positive change in my life. I am humbled and honored that I have the opportunity to share this gift!
